We are a local chapter of
the national organization
the Embroiderer's Guild of America, Inc.
We are not just embroiderers - we are much more than that.
We are embroiderers, beaders, needlepointers, quilters, sewers,
and anyone else who is interested in the various needle arts.

EGA's national mission statement is -
The mission of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America is to inspire passion for the needle arts
through education and the celebration of its heritage.

Our local chapter has monthly meetings (September through June)
on the first Tuesday of the month.
Meetings vary in their programs.
We try to have meetings which over the year are of interest
to all of our members and their varying interests in needle work.
At meetings we may have - a guest lecturer, a workshop with a chance to learn something new, or time to work on our projects in progress.
Members are long time stitchers, those new to stitching,
and of course, lots of us who are in between or just enjoy learning about needlework.
Our chapter was started in 1971 and has been an active chapter since.

Our chapter is a part of
the Metropolitan Region of EGA, Inc.
Metro Region provides additional educational needlework opportunities to those in its member chapters.
Metro Region hosts a multi-day seminar every other year.
The seminar has classes featuring
various different types of needlework by
an assortment of needlework teachers.
There is also a sales area with needlework
and needlework related items.
And, of course - the companionship of fellow needleworkers.
Metro region also has a quarterly newsletter of what is happening in the region which is distributed to members located in the region.
